Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Romeoville Humane Society. Currently, Romeoville Humane Society does not have a stand-alone building, but we still need many volunteers to foster animals in their homes. We also need help caring for and /or handling our animals at different events and our two pet store locations. Volunteering is a simple process. All you have to do is email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or please call us at 877-813-7300 and leave a voice mail telling us how you would like to volunteer. Please note that our 877 number is strictly a voicemail box, and there will not be a live person answering.
Someone will get back to you with specific information about what you can do to volunteer. Without help from volunteers like you, this Humane Society would cease to function, and we would not be able to save the animals we do. Check out the list on the right and let us know how you would like to help.
Romeoville Humane Society houses cats and kittens at two local pet stores. We need volunteers to clean the cages, care for, and play with the cats. Currently, some of our cats are housed at Petco in Romeoville on Weber Rd. and PetSmart in Joliet on Plainfield Rd.
In addition, we have also partnered up with K9 Guardians in Lockport and we need volunteers to do kennel clean up and dog walking in Lockport on Bruce Road.
Adoption events are one of the most important avenues for the Romeoville Humane Society to find new homes for our pets because we do not have a building for people to come see and meet our dogs. Because all of our dogs are fostered in residential homes, we need people to pick up and handle the dogs at the adoption events at times when the foster family is unavailable. This can include: walking, nurturing and poop patrol.
We are always on the lookout for new foster homes and leaders within the organization. Please visit our Foster HomesPage for more details on fostering, and our Help Wanted page to see what leadership positions we have available.
